Miley Cyrus is saying goodbye to Hannah Montana

Most of us know her as a character in Disney’s tv-program "Hannah Montana", where she played the role as a young, innocent teenager who lived in two different worlds. The life as the ordinary Miley, and the wicked life as the superstar Hannah Montana. She has earlier performed for the younger audience., but now it’s clear that Miley Cyrus is ready to change her image as the innocent Hannah Montana, to a more pop-artist like Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Britney Spears.

Miley is now 17 years old, but was only 16 when she recorded her newest album “I Can’t Be Tamed”. She fulfills the typical pop-image with feathers, less clothes, smoky-eyes and dancers in her recent music video. She has developed from a sugar sweet Disney actor, to yet another sex symbol for the pop music world.

Country veteran Billy Ray Cyrus, who also plays Miley's father in "Hannah Montana" defends his daughter. He disagrees with the tons of criticism from the media regarding her music video which the majority doesn't thinks appropriate for someone her age. He explains:- Miley loves to entertain, and I give my children a lot of freedom to create their own art. I think this is important."

Miley’s own explanation is: "The video isn't about being sexy or about who can wear less clothes. It's about explaining the song and living the lyrics."

Here’s the video everyone talked about even before it got released:

We personally think Miley Cyrus is a great singer, and that she should develop her carrier to maintain her popularity. But we're not sure if it's necessary to do exactly as the rest of the popular female artists, and just play on sex. Is less clothes, tons of makeup, and sexy dances really what it takes to reach the gold?

Is this what you expect from the music artists today?

What do you think of Miley Cyrus's development?

We think  the song "When I look At You" is a really great song, so if you haven't heard it you should buy it right away! Have you heard any other good songs by Miley Cyrus? Let us know!
